how to install printer canon LBP 2900 in Ubuntu 13.10

half day fucking with printer can not use in Ubuntu 13.10 , the printer series is canon LBP 2900 , finally after google got how to solve the problem ….

fist off all is download this file : CLICK HERE

after that go to terminal …

go to download folder … extra the file …

after that go to inside folder that you extract

after that    sudo ./canonLBP_install.sh PRINTER_MODEL

PRINTER_MODEL is put your printer series , this code can be for :

The current supported printer models for the 1.90 release of the driver are: LBP-1120, LBP-1210, LBP2900, LBP3000, LBP3010, LBP3018, LBP3050, LBP3100, LBP3108, LBP3150, LBP3200, LBP3210, LBP3250, LBP3300, LBP3310, LBP3500, LBP5000, LBP5050, LBP5100, LBP5300, LBP7200C.

after that reboot your computer ..

how to reset setting compiz in ubuntu

this is a big problem for me , after play2 with compiz in my desktop some thing can not work in my desktop like unity and cannot the mozilla and terminal cannot move only can work at the top and a lot of problem lah , so the solution is reset the compiz

 

this is the way

1.sudo apt-get install dconf-tools

2.dconf reset -f /org/compiz/

3.unity –reset-icons
then restart the computer

How to create network sharing in Ubuntu

Create a Static IP adress

I like to give it a static ip address as I believe is easier.

1. Click on Networks Devices (It’s on the top of the screen with two arrows one going up the other down).

2. Click Edit connections.

3. Highlight your network connection and then click Edit.

4. Click IPv4 Settings tab.

5. Choice method as Manual.

6. Click Add, then put your network settings.

Jakarta – Forum pengguna Ubuntu, salah satu distro open source Linux, ternyata mendapatkan serangan dari hacker. Alhasil, sebanyak 1,82 juta data penting dicuri oleh penjahat cyber tersebut.

Canonical, salah satu perusahaan di balik sistem operasi terbuka ini, baru saja mengumumkan bahwa kondisi ini cukup kritis dan pihaknya tengah berusaha keras untuk melakukan pemulihan.

“Mereka berhasil mencuri setidaknya username, password, dan email dari database. Kami mengimbau kepada pengguna untuk melakukan pergantian password,” terang pihak Canonical, seperti dikutip detikINET dari ZDnet, Rabu (31/7/2013).

Canonical mengatakan bahwa Ubuntu One, Launchpad, serta layanan lain dari Canonical tidak terpengaruh oleh penyerangan tersebut. Namun, setidaknya 1,82 juta data user dari 1,96 juta data yang ada, telah bobol dicuri.

Saat ini pihak perusahaan mengungkapkan layanan keamanan di Forum Ubuntu berhasil dipulihkan, dan Canonical sedang melakukan penyelidikan lebih mendalam mengenai kejadian ini.

use -r for folder : for exampe
